How to Apply Online
THE ONLINE lottery APPLICATION for the 2026/2027 school year will open on february 2, 2026 @ 9:00 am
The kindergarten online lottery allows parents/guardians to apply in five district-wide programs:
- Early French Immersion
- East Kensington Outdoor Learning (EKOLogy)
- Intensive Fine Arts
- Montessori
- Traditional
- Xw'epiteng (Outdoor Land-Based Learning Program)
How to Apply
- Beginning Monday, January 12, 2026 parents/guardians can register their child/children online at their local catchment school.
- Online applications for the Kindergarten Lottery open Monday, February 2, 2026 @ 9:00 am. Parents/guardians will have a 3-week window of opportunity to apply.
- Parents/guardians apply by entering their details, their child's details (one application per child), and their preferred program/school choices (up to a maximum of three - listed in order of preference). Submit your online application by the deadline of Friday, February 20, 2026 @ 4:00 pm.
- Once the online application period has closed, a random lottery draw will begin starting the week of February 23, 2026, indicating whether or not the lottery was successful for their child/children. Families should have lottery results by Spring Break.
- Successful applicants will be allocated a place in a Kindergarten Lottery Programs school, and their registration package will be forwarded to the school. All other applicants will be placed on a waitlist.
- Program seats are filled until all available places have been allocated. Waitlisted applicants may remain on the waitlist until a place becomes available. If a student drops out of a program before or during the program, the next applicant on the waitlist will be contacted.
